RE Curriculum
The Religious Education programme at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is developed from framework resources derived from the Diocese of Westminster. This framework is written to model exemplar teaching and learning according to the levels of attainment and the new Religious Education Curriculum Directory. In drawing on the Diocese framework the school plans units of work, so that the particular needs and strengths for the children are addressed and that links to other curriculum areas are maximised.
The development of the Religious Education Curriculum is supported by regular planning opportunities from Religious Education staff. This includes teachers timetabled to plan their year groups unit of work with Dr. Margaret Carswell on a twice yearly basis.
The topics in the units for Years 1 - 6 follow a three year cycle. The Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) repeat the same topics each year.

Year 3 - Judaism
Year 4 - Hinduism
Year 5 - Islam
Year 6 - Sikhism
